Hi guys, you may have seen the thread in the production forum: http://dnbforum.com/threads/mixdown-tutorials.186858/

We've come up with an idea that might be useful/interesting to you guys

The idea is, we will pick 1 track a month from the "new talent" section, and shoot a video showing the process of tweeking the mix in our studio, along with some tips and info about what we do and how

This is open to all users no matter what your experience level, at the end of it, you will get a mixed down and mastered track (for you only), aswell as a video for everyone to watch, which will hopefully be interesting to watch :)

First video is planned for about a months time (~10th oct)

If you are interest in having your track considered, drop an email over to mixtutorials@subsymmetry.com with a link to the new talent forum post

Format should be 24bit 96khz WAV

You will need to bounce your track down to a max of 9 audio files (as this is free we cant offer huge mixdowns)

Recommended channel list:

1: Sub (Mono)
2: Kick (Mono)
3: Snare (Mono)
4: Percussion (Stereo or Mono)
5: Mid-Bass (Stereo or Mono)
6: Synth/Leads (Stereo or Mono)
7: Pads/non-lead synths (Stereo or Mono)
8: FX/Samples/other sounds (Stereo or Mono)
9: Vocals (Stereo or Mono)

It would be best if your track is completely finished, as that would mean you end up with a mastered track at the end, but if you are stuck on a mixdown and could do with some detailed help, then feel free to submit it any way :)

Thoughts welcome!

we will let you know how to get the files to us, please do not send files by email or we transfer, they will be ignored/deleted!

please don't send more than one email, you'll go to the back of the que!

so if you'd like the chance to have your track mixed and mastered @ SubSymmetry Studio One, along with a video showing our process as we do it; drop your new talent thread links over by email before the 28th of Sept, we'll pick one out on the 29th and the vid will be up around mid-October :)

We'll need the stems fairly quickly after the 28th, so if you are unsure as to how to render them, post up a message either here or in the other thread and we'll try and help! between our team we know pretty much every DAW available (except Cakewalk...i'm sure we can figure it out tho)

Can if u want lol

haven't decided the criteria for the first video yet, but it'll probably be an over view of the process, and then specific techniques in later vids...or maybe thenother way around, there are allot of general mixing tuts around already..we'll see

Unfortunately we had a disaster, audio interface is fried and the backup doesnt work on the USB 3.0 motherboard. Arse fek bollox. will be a short delay till its fixed :-/

managed a temporary fix finally! not an ideal solution as its using unbalanced cables, so its a bit noisy, but it'll do for now, fingers crossed part 1 will be done tomorrow!
