naw man, izotope vinyl is bowlorks, who cant layer a vinyl crackle loop and some white noise under their stuff. but that compressor looks rad, i will be checking that.

I agree with ya. The problem with vinyl is that it keeps generating sound even if you're not playing anything and even if you automate it's volume, it doesn't work (at least in FL).

[Optimal Prime]

A bit like the Grungelizer in Cubase by the sounds of it, in which case you'd need to bounce it down as its own channel really and then layer it. Helps if you don't have vinyl crackle at hand and depending on how it works, it could dynamically vary over time so not to sound like a loop repeated and feel more natural. I haven't tried it though so I couldn't really comment on the quality of the vinyl plug. There's certainly nothing stopping layering real vinyl crackle over the top of a track though of course.
