Using Bitcrusher on vocals?

Im working on the vocals of a tune right now, and ive heard that using bitcrusher on vocals can work quite well, but when i use it they just sound shit.... how exactly are you supposed to use it?!

Well basically you're just pushing it into a ceiling. The harder you push it the more saturated it becomes. I don't really like Bitcrushers although I place one on an aux send if I want to add some sizzle to synth parts.
Try using a compressor or a limiter.
