I use the drive as a sample storage drive because my pc has just 128GB ssd drive. To save space, you know. It used to show up as D:, and all my projects point the DAW to D: but now when i plug it in it is suddenly E: and the DAW won't find the samples :|

what do?

If you're using Windows 7 : right click on the 'Computer' icon (on the desktop or Start Menu) -> Manage -> Disk Management -> right click on the wanted volume -> Change letter...

I don't use an English version, the labels may be not exact.

Yeah, I had it ages ago, it's fixed by renaming the drive. I remember thinking I was going to have to manually browse for every file from within the projects and wanting to cry.
