Building at their new home, the Upper Playground (a group of skateboarding come dub smuggling mates) have found a winning formula - gut wrenching basslines which make you wobble across breaking party beats. Now at a venue which will really do their night justice and offer them the opportunity to deliver equally important artists to the fold, this growing party will be taking plot here for many months to come and will shake the foundations of Jamm, no doubt. And what a line up they have, Plastician , Reso , Brackles , JFB , 2 Bit Thugs , Sai and Jeuce Joyriders.
The Front Room will be hosted by Fidget who are delivering some serious parties east of London and this will be no different. Expect a night packed with knee trembling wobbly basslines and chip-choppy-cut up vocals galore!

Chris Reed, also known as the Plastician (formerly Plasticman), connects east London grime to the south London Dubstep scenes as both DJ and producer. His participation in the Rephlex Grime compilations, his primetime pirate radio shows on Rinse FM and his recent BBC Radio One Residency slot on the ‘In New DJs We Trust’ show, have heavily contributed to the rise in popularity of dubstep and grime. http://www.myspace.com/plastician
Grotty, liquid, dark, brutal and lush are all words used to describe the music of 25 year-old Reso. Such a contrasting set of adjectives are hard to understand but after listening to his productions, you begin to realise why. Mary Anne Hobbs has been a fervent supporter of the young producer. Reso is certainly one of the most technically gifted producers to have sprouted from the dubstep scene and is fast gaining recognition from the techno, glitch and breaks scene for his own twisted take on the dubstep/ 130bpm-140bpm sound. With a number of key releases on Storming Productions, Destructive and Urban Graffiti, Reso has now become part of the Civil family and is currently writing his album for release in 2009.
This man’s duties as a regular warm up DJ at the infamous London Dubstep Night FWD, as well as regular appearances on Rinse FM have earned him a reputation as a skilled selector and man of good taste. Inspired by all the good stuff - Slimzee, Horsepower, Dilla, El-B, MJ Cole - Brackles is probably the best DJ around right now. With a sound a million miles away from the blokey, sludgy going rate of dubstep, this kid effortlessly incorporates funky, rolling grime, vintage 2-step and bassline into his impossibly energetic, elastic sets.

2 Bit Thugs
These guys smashed onto the emergent fidget/electro house scene in 2008 with their genre-crushing blend of shit-kicking beats, apocalyptic elastic bass lines and trademark hip hop influences. Never taking life too seriously their distinctive ‘gangster house’ sound received critical acclaim, support and hype from numerous international blogs, DJs and press; making them amongst the hottest producers & remixers in the scene right now. Always keen to stay one step ahead of the game, 2 Bit Thugs now bring their trademark style to all genres of music.
With the ability to hold down crowd rocking sets wherever he plays, from party vibe hip hop to the most gut wrenching dubstep and bassline you can dare to imagine, plus plenty more ear carnage in between. All mixed to perfection and done with bags of charisma makes him an instant fan favourite all over town and further afield!
