Nas - NY state of mind.. The best lyrical track ever. In my un-humble opinion. The lyrics are so good I actually wanna just abandon my job, move to Queens and start selling rock and rolling dice for a living. Fuckin raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!

Public Enemy - Fight The Power, if ya dunno check Fear Of A Black Plant album, definitive, massively influential sampling / production.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jNyr6BJZuI

DeadPrez - Hiphop, yeah, I know I post this every old skool hiphop thread, but sick "fake thug rnb" real hiphop lyrics and one of the best b-lines ever in the history of music.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4iPUTXaLJw

Wu - Bring The Ruckus, but anything off 36 Chambers for the darkness and RZA's impeccable production (comedy Turtles clip I found on this one, but you really should know the track already).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5WFc08czjo

Young MC - Know How, advanced rapping for it's time. Still rocking happy party track. Play this in an eclectic set or at a house party and it will go off.

+ Too many others. Hiphop is big thing. Don't underestimate the quality and variety of stuff that's been made over the years.

Edit: @ young Ninja let ppl know what ya feeling if ya ain't heard em! (Tho I deffo agree with your 2 picks)

No offence, but is played out. Wasn't even their own verses (this is well documented). True, defines HH for many ppl, as was one of 1st commerical tracks, but no please.
