running away to Qatar in may to live there for a while. All i'm taking with me are my clothes and hopefully my decks

no idea how to go about it though, or even if you can. Got the original boxes and the polystyrene packaging, but it's gonna take up another large suitcase.

The other option is to UPS them over, but that will probably cost a fortune and also probably 'go missing'

    ideas?

not a bad shout, but it would probably cost me more than my decks are actually worth.

my other option was to sell them and buy some new ones with that cash + my first tasty paycheck...but my relentless googling has told me that there is nowhere in the entire country that sells DJ/studio gear.

Sell your gear and buy it again out there. Research availability first though obviously.

do you know how expensive that is?! i looked into for bringing my rokits here and it was gonna cost like over a grand for shipping and insurance... what i did was just selling what i didnt need keep what i wanted as investment (plus il never selling my rokits) and something to use on holidays and stuff and bit the bullet and just bought over here... did have to downgrade on the speakers but as the savings add up my plan is to keep them as reference by 2 more henny babys and set them all together through a soundcard :D... so there's my experience hope i help

Yeah shipping fees are savage. Just sell em and get summat new once you're in Qatar. Aren't you gonna face the same problem coming back home though?

I was gonna get myself a new set of 1210s over here in Korea but I don't really know how long I'm actually gonna be here, and trying to sell them will be a ball ache.

Settled for an S4 in the end, but at least I can take it about with me if and when I wanna leave.
