Wow!, went today after not going for about 5 years, really impressed they have made some great new additions ride wise, Colossus, Nemesis, Samurai and the mighty Stealth - this is the ride that really impressed me 0 - 85 in 2.4 secs down a straight then blasted vertically over the top of a loop :boom: .

Mind you, in saying it was so good, I haven't been to any of the other parks for about 5 years either, so in comparison this might be gash!

i think chessington is the shittest one now. I went to thorpe park a few months ago and it was quality. last time i went to chessington is was pure pap on a stick, considering back in the day i remember chessington being better than thorpe park. I'm talking long time ago

Yeh man Thorpe Park killed it for me, haven't been to any of the other parks recently.

    Did you go on Stealth?

definitly! im sure chesssington used to be better than thorpe park too. Thorpe park pisses over chessington now, whilst alton towers remains pissing over the pair of them. Although the new ride at Thorpe park makes it pretty close in my opinion

i think it's like 8 years since i went to chessington. i remember the bubbleworks, and that's about it.

thorpe park rocks, though. wouldn't go on stealth - felt pretty rough that day already, without punishing myself further. :twitchy:

I went to Alton Towers last week, was pretty good. A lot of the rides were similar to rides I'd already done in Florida though, some better, some worse.

Looks like Thorpe Park will be my next UK theme park destination! :teeth:

I ain't been to a theme park for ages. In fact the last time I went to a theme park was Alton Towers in 2000, and I did some mushrooms and went on the Nemesis. Good fun. :teeth:

usually i love all the big rides. i did the whole florida thing a few years back too. now though, my head's normally too messy before i even get there. i've become a bit of a chicken lately, i'll admit it.

The thing with rides is just to do them without much thought. If you think too much you'll decide against it. They're never as bad as they look once you've done it.

chessington is too family orientated now, thorpe park is our age and alton is a bit of everything

oh and another reason to hate chessington.....apparently they only let children or couples on the bubble works now!!!!o_O boooo

i know, that's what i used to do, like, let me at 'em! kids have NO fear, i guess. the worst thing is, i'd happily go on any nutcase rollercoaster 20 times back to back and feel fine, but put me on one of those banana boat things for kiddies and i'll be dizzy and puking for the rest of the day. :gaywhite:

if you go on Vortex at Thorpe Park, it's just like skating vert ,which i can assure you is shit scary 1st time, but the adrenaline rush is awesome!

does anybody think it would be cool to have a big ol' party in thorpe park?

Thats because it made an alarmingly loud creaking noise! Kinda looks like it would be fun if it was quicker, but it wasn't . It just looked slow and uncomfortable. To be fair everyone we went with went on all the big rides, but most people can't be arsed with stuff that looks like it belongs in a fair.

Whens the Thorpe Park trip then? I've got 7 BOGOF vouchers :D
