this might piss a few heads off but...

I think without andy c the scene wouldnt be what it is today.
in my opinion he is the best dj in the world.
ram is not my favourite label, i dont really have one to be honest but it is still a big label.

i really can't disagree with you much, as i pass on a lot of the more recent ram releases myself.

That being said I do like a lot of the old ram stuff back when Andy C, and Ant Miles, and Shimon had something to prove to the scene. But its like that with many labels as they age (including subtitles - my personal fave - is losing its luster and has stale releases from time to time).

Ram and its entourage still have their place, and in fact have more or less disbanded and started their own labels to reflect their own tastes and directions with music (albeit Ant Miles has been a bit of a ghost the last few years) Shimon's Audio Porn label is doing things differently and certainly in a good way.

I catch where you are coming from. But you also have to think about a guy like friction, who went from being real tight with the ram crew (and learned a lot from these guys). Now friction is an unstoppable force, and his Shogun labels are really breaking way for a different sound in DnB. It would be hard to imagine if Friction would have ever had this type of success if it weren't for guys like Andy C to inspire him and provide him tips along the way.

Love it or Hate it it is the way it is.

there is no be all and end all of dnb. but andy c is like the patriarchal figure for many. he's like the yoda to sub focus' luke skywalker.

oh jeeze...

i know there is no be-all end-all, but many many many heads think of it like that...

i love a good andy c set... just not into the ram vibe.

see i would say fabio is more my father-figure... he has diverse taste of the deep dnb nature.

LOL! Seeing as u have such strong opinions on everything in dnb be it dj'in skills or which producers u like, im gona have to give you an opinion of my own......i have a feeling im not gona like u quinn no matter how many post you make...

On a serious note, I agree with you to an extent that Ram has certaintly got worse over the years and they have changed their sound drastically in modern times. But it's hard to maintain a sound that was pioneered so long ago.

lads lads... you are getting me wrong here...

this is not a gripe on andy c, more on his taste as according to the post 2006 ram stuff.

i love valley of the shadows, and if you check the 'tune to sum up dnb' thread, then you will see that.

i fully understand what he has done... just trying to breed some discussion on ram records, and say my piece.

i've waited in queues outside fabric for 4 hours just to get in at 3.am to catch andy c finish with a two hour set... so trust me, i love the guys djing, second to none (except maybe marky just because of his style and endurance!)

dont get it twisted.

lol am not bullying
but its pretty obvious the guys a legend...of course people are gonna love him up
