so yeah, i been rawking the vindaloo.

so who here likes, makes it and where is the hottest one you have punished yourself with?

Its an north Indian curry, one of the spiciest you can buy, for those with asbestos lined mouths. However, its not THE hottest curry you can get, there's a curry called a Dahl, its never on the menu but you can sometimes order them specially in curry houses, makes a vindaloo seem like a nice and spicy pot noodle. I tried one once, now I can handle spicy food really well, and I ate nearly all of it, but it nearly killed me, especially the morning after.

yeah yeah... indian food, hot curry basically. mostly made with lamb (lamb vindaloo) or beef. served with long rice and sometimes pappadums to munch on. pappadums are like a crunchy fried bread thing about the size of your hand. they are fun to cook, when you put them in the hot oil they crinkle up.

never been into poppadums, naan breads are way superior, especially the garlic and coriander flavored ones.

dahl = pain. my dad made it once (he's the curry master and no he isn't asian). he got the receipe from the indian lady living next door. he had to go to the emporium to get some of the stuff to make it. even he was in pain and sweating, his usual caper is to sit at home and eat marinated chillis while sinking piss watching the footy so it was quite funny.

i had about two mouthfuls and then buried my face in a litre tub of strawberry yoghurt.

nothing like challenging yourself though.

Big up the Vindaloo. If I don't have curry at least once a week, I get cold turkey :) Love a good curry. Beer, Coke & Curry what a great way to spend a Saturday night ;)

Isn't it called a Phall? Dall is lentils.
Proper vindaloo is hard to find in restaurants, the one with all the vinegar and big bits of spices, mmmmmm!

I think my favourite is either lamb bhuna or biryani.

Used to have a stomach like a pressure cooker and a taste for curry - nowadays though a curry means the Ring of Fire, the Ring of Fire.

:violin:

Only part of me that has gotten old, though.

i know this...
what you may not know is that bigot redneck australians (and prolly other similar peoples around the world) group all peoples from the subcontinent in the class of "pakis". my post was a dig at 12inch grinch in light of his recent views, you may not have known this because i couldnt be bothered putting a sarcasm emoticon after it.
