The Source Presents NOOKIE - B'Ham - 10th Dec 2010

Jan 1, 2004

Following their awesome October date which saw Doc Scott and the Invisible Man send the Source crowd wild with 2 amazing sets, The Source returns with a pre-Xmas special featuring legendary producer, Nookie.

Nookie is a true veteran of the old skool/drum & bass scene, whilst at the same time one of its most forward thinking protagonists. Kicking off his production career in the early 90's, releasing under the names Nookie and Cloud 9, he released some of the period’s seminal works such as "Give a Little Love" and "The Sound of Music" on crucial labels such as Reinforced and Moving Shadow. As his career developed he established more long term affiliations, most notably with Ray Keith, for whom he engineered for many years, including on the classic ‘Terrorist’ under Ray Keith’s Renegade moniker, and LTJ Bukem’s label Good Looking Records. To date he has now released five artist albums, including his most recent effort ‘Beyond Blue’, on his own label Phuzion Recordings, as well as working with names such as Blame, Omni Trio, Adam F and Mr Fingers himself, the legendary Larry Heard. A fantastic DJ and a pillar of the dance/drum & bass scene for many years, we are proud to welcome Nookie to The Source.

In addition to this, as an early Xmas present and thank you to everybody who has supported The Source in 2010, we also have two local heroes who have played their part in keeping the Midlands raving for the last 20 years - Don Christies and Eclipse legend, DJ Shock C and one of Wolverhampton's finest and Quest resident, DJ Energy.
