Following a near sell-out event with Tango and Ratty, The Source returns with a very special lineup to celebrate their 1st Birthday.

Featuring not one but TWO genuine old skool legends, the Source crew are proud to present, for his 1st old skool set in the UK for nearly 20 years, the godfather of the Belgian scene and one of its most respected producers, Frank De Wulf…!!

Add to this a DJ set from Mark Archer, one half of chart-busting rave nutters - Altern 8 and you got the recipe for probably the best Source party yet!

Frank De Wulf

One of the pioneers of the Belgian rave and techno scene, Frank De Wulf cemented his status as one of the forward-thinking producers of the early 90’s with his ‘B-Sides’ series on Music Man Records. A stylish cocktail of progressive beats and peculiar atmospherics, all 4 volumes charted in Europe and reigned over dancefloors in the UK, Europe and the USA. Following this success, Franks production skills were in high demand which led to him remixing big names such as The Orb, The Shamen, Jam & Spoon, Erasure as well as the legendary ‘Dominator’ by Human Resource. He continued to release records on a variety of labels including the seminal dance label R&S Records and pioneering Techno label, Harthouse before leaving the music scene at the end of the 90’s to concentrate on multimedia work with his company, Grid.

However, in 2010 Frank returned to production with a clutch of remixes of classic tracks on his new B-Sides label and The Source is honoured to host this legendary DJ/producer’s first gig in the UK in almost 20 years….!

Mark Archer

Beginning his career as a founder member of dance giants Bizarre Inc, Mark left to form the Detroit-influenced Nexus 21 who had a string of releases on renowned labels such as Network and R&S Records (and were famously the first artists to receive a remix by the legendary Carl Craig on their ‘Still (Life Keeps Moving)’ single). At the same time, Mark began a side project, which was to become one of the biggest names in rave history, Altern 8. Famous for their stage gear of dust masks and chemical warfare suits, Altern 8 crashed the UK Top Ten in 1991 with their singles ‘Activ-8’ and ‘Evapor-8’, two chaotic slices of hardcore which led the way for their Top Ten album ‘Full On Mask Hysteria'. After disbanding in 1993, Mark continued producing for various labels including Rennie Pilgrim’s TCR Recordings and Ideal Trax and most recently has released solo material on Mutate Records and Black Dog’s DS93 imprint as well as DJing at high profile events such as Glade, Bangface and Bloc Weekender.

Also celebrating The Source’s 1st Birthday alongside these 2 old skool legends will be residents Gershwin, Glenn Aston and DJ-X so this is definitely one not to be missed!!

Those of you that have attended the previous Source events with DJ Sy, 2 Bad Mice, Trevor Fung, Nookie, Tango & Ratty and Doc Scott will know what to expect – great music, great people, quality sound and lighting and above all, one fantastic vibe just like the old days!
