Firstly im starting this thread out of frustration over trying to buy the Quarks EP on Audio Porn, Yeah It was promo'd a few weeks back, but i got a booking an wanted some new tunes. Audio Porn is distro'd through Nu Urban, so Nu-Urb online store was the obvious place to go to.

Order went through, email status was regular and kept me informed all the way from picking through to shipping an packing. 'Safe' I thought.

Then at the end of the day i receive an email saying the item is out of stock and i have been refunded. What I dont understand is how it got that far in the system (over 24 hours) before realizing there was no stock! I emailed them and got some half arsed lame excuse, dont get me wrong they are good at what they do, but I got let down. Dashed to juno today and bagged a copy so fingers crossed!

I wanna praise Redeye & Kaizen tho, ive never been disapointed or let down by them for over 6 years now.

An im gonna stick Nu Urb on the bad list along with Catapult records in Wales, they are seriously bait!

So, who has let you down big time when i comes to online record shopping an who deserves a medal? hmmm?

Red eye are good but I've had a good few warped vinyl from the. Never had any problems with Chemical and they've got a great selection and the website is pretty user friendly. Never use Nu Urban so I wouldn't know.

Nu-Urban are pretty good IMO. Good prices and selection is not too bad (although not as good as it could be). I've only ordered vinyl online once and that was with N:U and it came quickly and was well packaged. So contrasting points of view eh?

Also does one bad experience warrant a place on the 'bad list'? Fair enough opinion goes down but second chances have to be given...

Nu Urban have always been good to me, I find they're cheapest too.

If you have any problems then the best way is to phone rather than email, I had a minor issue with them, rang up and it was quickly sorted and I got a small goodwill gift too.

Redeye and Chemical are the best online record stores I've used. Chemical gets the vote from me though as they deliver incredibly fast. I placed an order at 3:30 pm and it was delivered the next day. Bristol to Blackpool in 12 hours is pretty good for the Royal Mail.

Redeye are good if anything goes missing in the post though. Just ring them up after a week and they send it no questions asked.

I'v bought with most online stores now at one time or another, can say i'v only ever had problems with HTFR as much of a cliche as it is to say it.

I use Redeye, Chemical & Nu-Urban mostly, but have bought from other sites if they have a record in stock i want.

htfr - shite
chemical - swift and best
redeye - swift and good
soundbytes - site isnt good but got some bangers off here with no probs
discogs - havent had a problem but it obviously can have ebay syndrome
kaizen - only ordered once and had problems + there postage seemed astronomical
juno - never had a problem

chemical best set out and the audio section just really user friendly.

Redeye always good for promo's no problems there (use to get stickers in with purchases :(

juno again user friendly quick delivery and the lassie on the phone is always really pleasant wonder if she working at this time:D

kazien only ordered once from there, and altho i did have a problem with the order - glad I did as the chap ollie i think i spoke to did more than enough to sort it out (got a t shirt as well) its all about the banter imo.

htfr well can easily say if the british goverment was a record shop it would be htfr -bought hardware and within 3months was buggered had to send back and get a further charge of 100buks to get it WTF..to be fair the chap on the phone was nice enough and could relate to having to fork out more but company policy..yea htfr = gammy minge stay away.

Big up online record stores tho fukin love browsing to having a hard copy a few days later, still not sick of those brown packets its like christmas morning evrytime:)

I normally order from redeye and kaizen as it's always there the next day. Chemical records usually seem to take 2 days to get to me but I guess it depends where you live. Also used trademark a few times with no probs. Banquets a bit shit tho as they often list things that aren't in stock.

Redeye allways... The postage ate nu-urban is a rip off...
Nu urban do get some promos first though but from my experiences they arrive sooner from redeye any way....

This except redeye and chemical are on par...

Nu urban 3rd - ok but slow delivery and expensive postage

redeye chemical always

ive spent over £3000 with redeye. they win for me (y)

Yep Redeye all the time and Discogs i have never had a problem with either of them, obviously Redeye is one compan whereas Discogs is lots of different people.

Like somone said you can have ebay type probs with Discogs and again somone said about redeye re-sending lost items with no questions, i have had this recently and im very happy with their customer service.

Redeye gets brownie points from me all day long

Then again to me Discogs is the best place on the planet to get those hard to find tunes and the older classics, hands down.

nu urban are distrbutors so they distrbute to all stores and then the stores sell the tunes.. just like st holdings and srd but these 2 dont have online stores like nu urban that anyone can buy from..

but i work in intense records so its all about supporting ur local shop and keepin the scene alive!!
