Anyone old enough to remember when this came out will know it was revolutionary in the use of sampling.

Apparently they didn't make a penny from selling millions cos they hadn't cleared any (or some) of the samplers, cos no-one knew you had too...

oh yeah Fes, the amen has taken on a mythical status, but I could play you a whole jungle set without touching an amen break, there was far more diversity in the breaks than is sometimes remembered

oh no doubt brother. I agree! im just saying, ive spent years analyzing breaks and there origin, and tbh, its all quite fascinating that some of those old ass one hit wonders have been recycled for just a snare, then the actual Music in the song.

I like that fact that it still is relevant in todays music, as it was in the beginning (ie: Radius saying the message was heavily influencing to da yoot)

yeah man, I agree. and I think its great to learn more about where these sounds originate from, like with the Lynn break video.

i posted the Ragga Twins tune, as it was an early statement against the gun-man culture that pops up in raves over the years, saying 'no its not all right to act like this'.
And the Nomad - Devotion tune - MCing sounds kinda amatuerish today, but it was awesome positive hardcore on a breakbeat tip. wicked.

What really scared authorities back in '89 was the combination of acid house with anti establishment attitudes like those of Public enemy and NWA which are certainly BIG influences on hardcore/Jungle
