Detailed Propellerheads Reason video tutorials

These are short videos explaining a certain item inside of Propellerheads Reason 3 and
Propellerheads Reason 4. With having a complete tutorial section about all the different
devices which are rather long in length. In this series I am going to do a couple things
differently. In the first I am going to make these tutorials a little bit smaller in size and
length (10 minutes in max). Another thing I am going to do differently in this setup is
using a specific topic inside a specific tutorial, no doing all the different things in one go.
So, in a way, you will get a library which will contain a complete series of tutorials. You
can either just look up a small section, either watch them all in one go.
Another thing I am trying to do differently, is record them more professional in a way.
With using editing studio's to actually make the video more like a descent video tutorial
rather then having just a couple of recordings that are in a sequence (as done in the past).
In this stage I have only done a new video tutorial about the combinator. But, as I have
set a new trend here, you might notice a lot of new entries in this section while progress
goes along.
Most of these videos have also been posted on YouTube. And I will hopefully keep most
of these video tutorials up to date on this site as well. Initially this video tutorial series
started about explaining almost in detail the devices and how to use what. More recently I
am explaining how to create certain effects, come up with tips and tricks and I will
explain how to create a complete song using Propellerheads Reason. Which in my
opinion pretty unique in a way since I am explaining

Re: ***Reason Tutorial Video's***

Thanks this will help a shit load.

Doing higher music tech. and we are using cubase on these like 7 year old computers... It doesn't help at all D:

Re: ***Reason Tutorial Video's***

this looks sick, could u maybe post up the utube links to the various vids? I don't think the paltry 1gb of space left on my hardrive is enough to handle such an immense library.

Re: ***Reason Tutorial Video's***

its a pdf if i remember correctly with lin ks to an external site.

so no need for d/l

:)

enjoy.

I went back to fruity lol.

Re: ***Reason Tutorial Video's***

Re: ***Reason Tutorial Video's***

Helps a lot this does! Have had problems using Reason for a while and couldnt find any decent tutorials on youtube! Thanks!

Thanks Logiks for changing the thread name, hopefully it will get used now :D

here's a start...

Reason dirty synth bass work file... (33kbs of dirt)

i've made this bass synth in reason - i think it's got potential to be rough,
i'm going to keep developing it, i thought i would share it as these sounds
can be hard to make in Reason and it may be helpful for anyone struggling
to make one or for someone who might be able to improve it and use it.

It's 2 detuned sine waves in Subtractor with a SQ wave LFO on filter 1, the speed of
which can be automated for 'wobble'. the mod wheel knocks off a lot of the
programmed modulation. you may want to take off the portamento, depending
on your melody.

then there is chorus/flanger & unison to add depth and two Scream distortion units
that mangle the sound - changing the setting of these really alters the sound.

the 4 LFO outputs of the two Malstrom units control the parameters of the Scream
distortion to add variation to the signal/amount of distortion.

a little bit of reverb to give it scale. compressor and maximiser and that's it.

let me know if you play with it - would be interested to hear results.

i've upped the .rns and .cmb file as a .zip and hopefully it's backwards compatible
as made in Reason 5 (PS. THIS IS NOT A RICK ROLL!)
