The Rare One "In Tents" feat. SCRATCH PERVERTS & LTJ BUKEM with MC CONRAD
31 Artists, 3 Marquees, 1 Field :)

Advance Tickets £20 | £22.50 before 6pm | £25 after 6pm

On Saturday 21st May 2011, The Rare One is back with our first outdoor event since 2005… and it’s in tents! This time we’ve excelled ourselves (again!) to bring you a mini-festival of eclectic sounds at the Lovesgrove estate, east of Aberystwyth. We’d love to see most of you in fancy dress – so let your imagination run riot. You’ve come to expect the best lineups from us and this one is our most outrageous yet.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll know that THE SCRATCH PERVERTS are at the forefront of the scene. Combining genres with award winning mixing and scratching skills – they are a DJ masterclass. They even feature in the DJ Hero game series – and it’s not hard to see why theirs is the hardest level.

LTJ BUKEM & MC CONRAD return to Aberystwyth after a fifteen year absence to headline the Other Stage. Since then his Good Looking and Looking Good record labels have been the benchmark for innovative and atmospheric drum and bass. Their last set here was the stuff of legend, we reckon you’ll still remember this event in years to come too.

Aberystwyth’s favourite smash-it-up funk band THE MIGHTY FUOD are reuniting on home-turf for their first public show since 2008. The nine-piece band have a Moog synthesizer, a flute, two drummers and a brass section – and the finest reworking of Star Wars on any planet.

Having laid waste to crowds across the UK festival scene and somehow making it back from a mini tour of Portugal, SICKNOTE promise to inflict their sickness onto us. Now reunited with their shamanic Dr Conker, their potent brand of wrong n’ roll is more rancid than ever.

Tucked out of sight you’ll find the Secret Disco, a hide-away where you’ll find die-hard partygoers getting down to everything from soul to house, electro to techno.

And that’s just for starters – in total we have over thirty artists over 12 epic hours.

Getting there is easy – there’s plenty of parking and a shuttle bus from Aberystwyth bus station. There’s also the renowned Rare Bus calling at Lampeter, Aberaeron and Llanrhystud - details online.

For those of you who want to get into the spirit of it a bit earlier, gates open at 2pm and there’s free camping onsite. If you want to get into spirits the Skarumba are supplying a rum selection Captain Morgan would be proud of – along with tasty food and chillout vibes.

We’ll be serving you music, drinks and good times from 4pm-4am.
