When my uncle died on the 5th July 1998, it was not only one of the saddest days for our family but the Jungle/Drum and Bass scene lost one of its most innovative performers, the Legend, Stevie Hyper D
Five years after his passing, at the seOne club, Stevies life was celebrated in true DnB fashion. Artists and ravers from across the UK, came together to show their love and respect and pay tribute to the much loved and missed Stevie. Anyone that attended that night will tell you the party was as legendary as the man himself!!
July 2008 marked 10 years since his passing and i was inundated with requests to host another tribute rave, At this time, I had the realization that Stevie Hyper D had influenced a Generation of people and that his story had to be told. Over the last year we have completed a radio Documentary called Junglist Souljah. This story on his life, career and his influence on the Jungle/Drum & Bass scene, has been told by his family, friends and artists who were lucky enough to have worked alongside him. This documentary has been produced by Audio Compound and will be exclusively aired on Uncle Dugs' Rinse FM show on Friday 19th October 2012 at 11am. #RCFF #StevieHyperDDay
So How do we mark this mementos occasion?
I am proud to announce that we have teamed up with the Dance Concept Recordings to bring you A New Albam! Yes, thats right, A NEW ALBUM! And guess what? The one you've all been waiting for? The OFFICIAL STEVIE HYPER D TRIBUTE RAVE!!!
We would like to thank all the Jungle/Drum & Bass family who are coming to perform for us for free once again, giving up their time to show love and support for the family of the great man himself, Stevie Hyper D
This night will be recorded for future projects and a video to launch the forthcoming album, Generation Hyper.
ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL GO TO OUR 'STEVIE HYPER D FOUNDATION'
