Musicality -- Production Techniques -- Mixdown

hey guys .. as much as I admire and respect you do such a competition I'd like to think you are missing one important rating criteria: UNIQUENESS -- no doubt, all top 5 tracks are really good, musically & technically. but its no art to produce the same sound we have heard hundreds of times before. this forum should be about music progression, not conservation or repeatition. please consider adding UNIQUENESS in your future competitions .. just my 2 cents .. cheers from Tokyo!

In terms of what Detached Audio looks for is uniqueness so i agree and i voted for the tracks i felt had that special something. Those tracks arent always the most popular however. I took this into consideration when i reviewed them also. I know what you mean though adding this into the mix when judging would do no harm.
 
i agree, all top 5 tracks have something special. no offence .. just suggesting to add another rating criteria.

I'm not challenging you. I'm asking you to do it. And if I were sarcastic, I would obviously make it clear to everyone here.

I think mashinistom is just expressing his opinion on the tracks. A bit insulting, but harmless non the less.

hi IV4. i'm not quite sure if you meant that in an friendly or insulting way. :-/
so far, all comments i read from you have been always amicable and positive.

if u read above in this thread u clearly see i think all remixes are somehow outstanding and well made.
my suggestion for improvement was only on the competition RATING CRITERIA -- not the music.

by the way, there is no win or lose in making music or creating art, isn't it?
i never said i would question you won the competition, why do you think that way?
needless to say committing suicide wouldn't be an option regardless how bad my remix would be ..
however, if I listen to the original track by Mr DL i get the feeling he is considering .. only him knows.

everyone else, esp. the top5 remixers, well done! apologies if you find my idea to add UNIQUENESS to future rating systems insulting towards your actual remixes. IT WAS NOT MEANT THAT WAY AT ALL. cheerio & good night! (y)

Nope, there is nothing nefarious or harmful in my previous statement towards you. The suicide thing was a joke to try and diffuse the situation. I think you have a right to your opinions and often times it is appreciated. This time you insulted some people. But it is ok!

well that joke could be seen as an insult, but nevermind.
again, my point was not about the music, i like all of the of the remixes indeed.
your's actually i find quite unique as you try to combine very different rhythms and vibes in your remix.
however, i was missing a remix that is totally different to the original, maybe a dubstep, or funkhouse, or jungelist dnb, or whatever remix.
all remixes, in respect how good they are, keep the same dark vibe & atmosphere of the original (maybe yours' went the farthest).
that made me wonder and write me initial post .. maybe i didn't find the right words - sorry.
