TEKDBZ '07
For those who have been wondering about what TEKDBZ has been getting into, wonder no more. For the haters who need something new to diss on Internet forums worldwide, your chance to hate is now. 2007 shall here by be known as the YEAR OF THE TEK. Al- low all of the speculation and questioning to cease, as all of your TEKDBZ info awaits...
Before we get into 2007, you have to realize that TEKDBZ has already sown the seed for what is about to commence in 2007, which is evident in URB Magazine’s awarding TEKDBZ with the “Jungle Single of 2006” honors for the “Fahrenheit 215” 12” (TEKDBZ005). If you have not heard this track, you haven’t been out at all in 2006. Quality record shops should still be carrying this massive 12”, so get on the hunt and get to grabbing this one while it’s still available!
Now, out of 2006, into 2007..
First up will be HEAT VOL. 2, a mixtape album of epic proportions. This package will be a combination of two evils: Hochi and The One will be coming at you from CA to the UK with a selection chock full of the hottest DNB and Grime for the streets, with loads of guests spots from the likes of the entire TEKDBZ crew, E-40 and Young Buck. HEAT VOL. 2 will feature loads of exclusives, as well as bits from the forthcoming TEKDBZ AMMO LP. On the flipside will be the mixtape from those Philadelphia microphone mas- ters, Mental Sharp, dropping some sick lyrics over even sicker beats. The HEAT warms up your cold winter on the 1st of Jan., 2007, so you better get prepared...
Coming Jan./Feb. 2007, you will see a revamping of the TEKDBZ spots online. Not only will the official TEKDBZ website, complete with a store AND an ill forum, will be touching down soon, as well as a new look to the already ill design of our MySpace page (www.myspace.com/tekdbz). The TEKDBZ presence will also be felt on iTunes, with the entire TEKDBZ back catalogue being added to their store in Feb. of 2007.
In terms of official releases, get ready for a heavy dose of DNB pressure leading up to the eagerly-awaited AMMO album. First up will be the next 12” on TEKDBZ, which is brought to you by the mastermind, Photek. TEKDBZ006 is a dutty affair, with Photek’s PHAT Remix of “Mama Mia”, a dancehall-flavored lick from Deadly Hunta & Catch 22, b/w “C-Note”, a nasty number that has already been battered on dubplate; this release will hit the shops and iTunes in Feb. of 2007. Immediately fol- lowing this will be TEKDBZ007, which is the sampler to the forthcoming TEKDBZ AMMO album. This 12” has the fam linking together for some terror, with “West Coast Ridaz”, a lick by Hochi & Infiltrata ft. MC Dre, and “Numba 1 Sound” by Photek & Craze ft. MCMC, touching down properly.
Once all of this hits the streets and sparks the fire underneath this scene, the TEKDBZ AMMO will be cocked, loaded and ready to blow! March/April 2007 sees the release of this highly-anticipated set, which will be released on CD/Vinyl/iTunes. This opus features the entire clique: Photek, Mental Sharp, DJ Craze, Hochi, Infiltrata, The One, Checkwun, MC Dre, Messinian and a special selection of guest vocalists. The first single from this set will be a Photek-produced tune from Mental Sharp entitled “Stray Shots In Vegas”. After this release drops, get your DVD players and iPod Videos ready for the special DVD with crazy amounts of footage: Live footage from the now-legendary House of Blues shows, interviews with the crew, backstage antics as well as in-studio session foot- age, which will yield to all sorts of info.
Add to this list an album full of lost classics and new gems coming on Photek Produc- tions (which will include “Saturated Hip Hop”, “Reach Out” and “One Nation”, among others), as well as the TEKDBZ Radio show on XM satellite radio (Channel 80, “The Move”, bi-weekly Thursdays, 3AM EST/12AM PST), among a number of other projects, and the cards are stacked against any other crew trying to cover as much ground as TEKDBZ is, and do it as efficient.
Get your weight up, chumps. TEKDBZ 2K7, runnin’ things.
Thank you,
TEKDBZ
