In another forum, far from this one, kids are asking about "techstep"... and others are replying with "Concord Dawn" and "Fresh". That bothers me, because when I think about "techstep", I think about tracks like Nico Replicant, and Doc Scott Shadow Boxing. Of all the tracks I've heard, I would say none of either Fresh or Concord Dawns tracks are "techstep", I would label them as contemporary drum and bass. Any thoughts (that aren't predictable)?

And who would you say is producing pure techstep today? I elect Typecell for sure.

I would tend to agree wid you, I think of Torque. Maybe its because people slowly stopped using the term and so it became a bit stuck in time.
For me its more of stepping beats, reese bass spooky noises, it wasnt really jump around style . I think tunes today use a lot of sounds that were realised during the reign of techstep though
which is good
