easy people, just wanted to know if any of u knew of any tunes or tips to make a good flowing set by starting with dnb, dabbling in dubstep/breaks in the middle and then finishing with dnb again? i have one tune that makes half of this possible (dirtyphonics - vandals) can anyone else name any other tunes that switch or give me any tips on how to make two songs with different tempos flow nicely?

    safe. :D

think this will just be down to trial and error mate,

danny byrd - weird science breaks down from 178ish to 153bpm (ithink) which then could be mixed into a breaks tune, maybe something like groundhog by noisia, then maybe drop a dubstep tune on that, something like Reso cued up on the drop and then cut into it. then you got the fun task of getting it back to dnb.

    just play about man.

i was also thinking of having a dabble in this =) only problem with vandals is it only switches to breakbeat before the drop if i remember right? and it would be a shame not to hear the drop as it is largeeee =) Quarks also switches to dubstep/breaks as well doesnt it? there must be more.. hopefully someone will make a nice list

yea man thats another one that starts off dnb, would be better if i could find a tune that starts off slow then picks up tempo in the middle. i can mix the breaks section of vandals with dubstep but i gotta speed it up quite a bit.

what about caspa - i remember [dubstep version] doesnt that build up to dnb pace in the last couple of bars? or is it still around 142bpm with a slower amen style beat?

Dirtyphonics - Quarks has a dubstep breakdown and so does DJ Fresh - Chainsaw, Spors remix of that girl has a dubstep intro so you can mix out of the dubstep and back into Drum and bass with that tune.

There are a good number of tech neuro producers who have been making tracks with half-time/dubstep breakdowns or switches. Check out Receptor, Morebeat, Brainfuzz, Dub Elements, Aeph, Maztek, Krone, Ble3k, DaVip, etc. Labels like Trust in Music, Melting Pot, C2D, Breed, Mindtech

another cheating method is to use a dubstep tune that has a break without a beat, then blend it with a dnb tune that has no beat in the intro. Get the right eq going and you cant normally hear the blend. Also to then blend back use the same lol. Just another method i guess.

Levela ft MC Funsta - Dub style

this track is a quality jump up tune that has an equally as gd dubstep breakdown in it. I use a lot when switching between the two genres and it works a treat :)

Ewun, Spor and Evol Intent - Levitate

Has a nice long breaks bit in the middle. Good for mixing into something like Back To Your Roots (Quest Remix) or Noisia - Brainstitch on the flip. Also gives you a chance to use Noisia Remix of The Omen.
