any ideas how to make good sub bass in massive. they sound pretty crap at the moment

  2. Start with a Sine wave and process it with Dynamics and EQ.

yeah on any decent synth its pretty straight forward making a sub bass.

so single sine wave (1 oscillator only) > distortion > adjust filter cut off to take the fuzz out but try retain the "warmth" > heavy compression > EQ job done! lol

Sub-bass is a term used to describe audible sounds below 90Hz - sound in the range below this (under 16-17Hz) would be termed infrasound. Sound systems often feature a subwoofer that is dedicated solely to amplifying sounds in the lower bass and sub-bass range.

also, crank up the resonance, and get the cuttoff around the fundamental frequency of the bass. This will bring it out whilst dipping any low end rumble.
