I've been trying to make a sound similar to the one in 8 figure bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwfNlTxQAq8
Specifically the lead/midrange bass part that goes off at :23 seconds. It seems like it can't be that tough to make but I'm still pretty new to production and struggling.

I'm interested in making the lead sound that comes after the "squelch". It's hardly something I would consider a squelch or a bass lol

Well it deff uses a lowpass filter with an envelope to make it go "wah" just once instead of an LFO, and then to re-trigger the "wah" press a note again... as for the sound itself, just sounds like a Reese bass thats been effected in a certain way so start with a reese and mess about a bit.
