    Yo,

basically im looking for a solution for my set up. I want a desk that will fit 2x technics a 4 channel mixer and have compartment underneath to store my vinyl. I will also be looking to buy 2 x cdj's for it aswel but like the idea of having them above the decks. ideally id like to get my laptop /keyboard and mouse etc on there aswel! need my vinyl compartments too!

anyone know any good ones from ikea or anything? any companies that can build one?

    Cheers

There's plenty of company's that make studio desks, they'll fit your needs, except for probably the under storage for your vinyl, the low spaces are built for rack mounted epicness on most studio desks. Though it wouldn't be had at all to cut a board to size and nail it in place to have the storage you need.

from personal experience ( & a few others on here) I would avoid djdeckstands.co.uk if you're looking for something ready made...longed me out 3months before I got my desk & it was missing the speaker stands. Some people I know never got anything they paid for through them as well.

However - I do know someone that bought a desk from Ikea for about £50 for his decks (which was as good a build quality as mine from DJdeckstands) and then bought a load of storage units for his walls as he didn't want it all housed underneath his desk (which I think worked out cheaper than buying the desk with the built in storage bits for records)

Sounds like your building a casket, what you need a casket for. Should have just come out and said you needed a casket, would have been less hassel and no gay jibes, unless youve raped and murdered a fella. Why you murder Timothy?

    Do this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Ikea-DJ-Console/

Will cost you under £100 (may go over if you wanna put fancy lights in the vinyl compartments). Is really easy to build. Can be flatpacked for moving, is an ideal height and has perfect room for 2 technics, a mixer and (maybe, depending on their size) monitors. If they're bigger, wall mount them or use/build speaker stands. Then just use piping and wood to make stands for the CDJs to mount above the decks.

I built one of these. Cheap, easy to make, plenty of room for vinyl, and it looks alright too. There's a pic somewhere in the setup pics thread. Although some of these...
...Look fucking swish for not much more dollar. And they're all Ikea builds so they're gonna be simple to set up.

Head down B&Q or Homebase and grab some wood and nails bro.

Im gonna start building my desk soon. Decks and mixer swishly sunken sitting flush, attached monitor stands, plenty of space below for for vinyl etc. Cant wait to get building.

Ikea do great units perfect for a dj setup. Even the storage compartments are 12.5 x 12.5 perfect for vinyl
