NZ’s State of Mind kick off 2009 by dropping their 2nd full length LP, ‘FASTER THAN LIGHT’ on their own label SOM Music. This double CD demonstrates why State of Mind are the quiet achievers of international drum and bass, as the lads avoid the overblown fanfare of some other releases of late preferring to let the diversity of the music do the talking.

For those familiar with ‘Take Control’ their previous LP, Faster than Light marks a new direction in some respects without losing the State of Mind flavor.

The album itself features some of State of Mind’s most complex and musical work, while at the same time it often explores the other end of the spectrum meaning there’s plenty there for the dancefloor and DJ’s alike.

Faster than Light features the vocal talents of some of NZ’s most sought after recording artists, and features collaborations with the likes of Chris.Su, Axiom, & Trei to produce some of the freshest beats around.

Included with the album is a second bonus CD. This CD includes remixes of album tracks by Mindscape, Spinline, Dose, Sigma, and more. It also contains a couple of unreleased State of Mind gems. It will not be released digitally.

DJ support for the LP is as you would expect for State of Mind’s varied style, it’s right across the board. Names include Dieselboy, Hype, Grooverider, Friction, Gridlok, Concord Dawn, Calyx, Teebee, Ed Rush and Optical, Goldie, Presha etc etc.

Release Date: March 9 through SOM MUSIC.
