I love spiders, not in a goth, doom & gloom way, but they're ace, fun to watch and aesthetically pleasing!

The most bio-mechanical / tech, insect / creature there is!

They catch flies, they build crazy webs across any gap, and they'll probably inherit the earth (together with rats and cockroaches).

We've got one in our kitchen, with a big web across the window, if the web gets damged, it just repairs it, and waits for more food!

    Ace!:inlove:

I'll second that, spiders are amazing creatures. My ex-g/f used to catch anything that moved in the garden just so she could feed it to her resident shed demon!

i got bitten six times by a spider when i was asleep.
didnt realise until the next night when i noticed lumps on my legs.
they turned purple and got bigger and bigger each day for about a week. i was waiting for the skin to break cos i thought i must have been bitten by one of those flesh eating spiders.

but they went away after a little while. shame. it wouldve been a cool story if i was bitten by a flesh eater.

    oh well, maybe next time.

There's a really famous goth/punk/alt club in Hull called Spiders that I used to frequent every weekend from the age of 15. Looked at the thread title and thought it was an appreciation thread for that. Weird.

A father watched his young daughter playing in the garden. He smiled as he reflected on how sweet and pure his little girl was. Tears formed in his eyes as he thought about her seeing the wonders of nature through such innocent eyes. Suddenly she just stopped and stared at the ground. He went over to her to see what work of God had captured her attention.

He noticed she was looking at two spiders mating. Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?" she asked. "They're mating," her father replied.
What do you call the spider on top?" she asked. "That's a Daddy Longlegs," her father answered. "So, the other one is a Mommy Longlegs?" the little girl asked. As his heart soared with the joy of such a cute and innocent question he replied "No dear. Both of them are Daddy Longlegs."

The little girl, looking a little puzzled, thought for a moment.........then took her foot and stomped them flat and said,

“Well, we're not having any of that gay shit in our garden."

spiders are a bit weird. too many eyes and legs. We had two of the large bstards living in the bushes outside my work (frank & richard). My boss would capture insects and feed them to the spiders. Both grew large things on their backs that looked like tiny potatos, really odd. I havnt seen them both in a while. Must have been murkled by a bird. . .
