    anyone know the process timescales?

got 2 x NIP (notice of intended prosecution) in one day within an hour of eachother from the same mobile unit!!

sent both the letters back declaring it was me, that was nearly a month ago and still got no letter back with the points /fines?

anyone knw if theres a loop hole i can get away with it if they dont send them within a certain amount of time?

I know this one loophole but it's rare many people have this set up. if you have two people named on your driving policy what you can do is ask for photo evidence of incident. Usually the camera quality is pretty shoddy so it is always impossible to tell from the photograph who was actually driving. Tell the pigs you are unsure who was driving at the time of the incident and they won't charge either of you because they need to be able prove who was driving and it would be unfair on the innocent party. My mate shares the car with his dad and has got away with it twice.

I got pulled the other day for being on phone whilst driving. Still waiting for the fine in the post and three points but it's been 3 months and nothing yet. Woop.

Trev I would read this before you advise people to break the law.. http://www.pepipoo.com/Section_172.htm these things are always set up to make them workable (ie a complete meat grinder). The Hamiltons got away with it because they had an expensive lawyer. Not open to everyone though.

Also karnage signs do matter.. http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Admin/2006/3263.html although I'm guessing there are statutory speed limits which obviously wouldn't need signs.

tried doing that in germany and failed. but if they dont prosecute you here in 3 months its outdated! maybe something to look into..

You really are a dimwit mate. There are statutory (by law not signs) speed limits in the UK http://www.smartdriving.co.uk/Driving/DefensiveDriving/Speed/UK_Speed_limits.htmland whether it's 30mph depends on if there's street lights or something..I don't drive unfortunately. If Councils want to vary that they have to put signs up and they must be visible (as per my link that you didnt read).

Found this on another forum. I like the idea of being able to name the 'likeliest' driver so that you avoid being prosecuted for failing to name..

That'd be a nice problem to land on someone's lap innit.

depending on how much you were out you could claim your car hasnt been carborated and the speedo is out (if its an old car, wont work on newer cars)

    OR

and this one worked for me..

if the fine is 60 pound send them a cheque for 61 pound..

by law they HAVE to send you a cheque back for that pound and until you cbank it they cant put the points on...
sooner of later ther points will be disgarded..

    trust me it works.
