not quite. you can turn png images into wav files, which can then be seen on any analyser

yeah.... i think aphex twin is known for doing this
analyze the end of window licker and it draws a shape
apperently in one of his other tracks you can see his face somewhere in the track
HOW! i need to know this now!
you can do it in FL with the beepmap generator (thats if fl still comes with it).... just load up an image file and it turns it into audio
its best done with simple images, ideally black and white (not grayscale) or at least images with a very high contrast
edit....
oh, dont expect them to sound great either lol

I managed to find a site that helps blind people using sound as vision,
Initially on the site they have a javascript app,
But after you search the site you find a program =]
It even possible to attach your web cam to give 3D images a chance =]
It a great way to add a hidden message or such
