soundlab speaker help

i have a pair of soundlab P115B speakers and the PEAK power for each speaker is 500 watts AT 8 OHMS. i cannot find these speakers at 500 watts anywhere on the net. i cn only find the lower 300 wat versions. will i need a 1000 watt amp to power all of this or are mine actually the 300 watt versions taht have a peak power of 500 watts RMS im confused any help much appreciated

I thought you always had to have an amp with a lower wattage than the speaker or you will blow them if you pump the volume up too much.
