im after some help
basically I want 2 purchase a small sound system, about 1k
but dont really know much about this, can any one offer any advise
as I dont want 2 spend my hard earned money on rubbish, ideally want 2 spend on something i can add 2 at some point.:

1k sound system (well, 0.8k):

2-way crossover (bass/mid-tops)
2 x 250W bass scoops
2 x 250W trapesoidal mid-tops
2 x 200W per channel amps (it's advisable to get lower amp output that cone rating for obvious reasons)

Or, you could use a 3-way crossover (bass/mids/tops), but that means extra boxes and amps for the tops. This is more versatile though.

Hope this helps,
Flux

Wot sort of price range you looking at for this size system?

Not cheap:

Two amps and a crossover will cost you around £500-£600 second hand. The speakers will probably cost around the same, unless you're prepared to build them yourself. If you do go DIY then the price is about half that.

Blimey!

That was quick! You must have stacks of cash just lying round.

Happy entertaining! :D

damn, i as just realised me mixer only has one output - how am i going to run a booth as well, can i get some kinda splitter????
