HI ALL

I AM A BEGINNER AT PRODUCING MUSIC

I NEED ADVICE ON LAYERING ONE SHOT KICKS AND SNARES I.E ALL THE GAP SPACES NEEDED TO MAKE THE BEAT FLOW CORRECTLY.

I HAVE SUCCESFULLY MADE A LIQUID D&B BEAT BUT EVERYTIME I TRY TO MAKE A LAYER OF DRUMS IT JUST DOESNT FLOW CORRECTLY, AM I USING THE WRONG PRODUCTION SOFTWARE?

ADVICE APPRECIATED

PEACE

just drag what hits you want to use from the explorer, into the left pane.

then start painting in the individual hits.

zoom in w/ the +/- buttons so you can be more precise w/ how you lay them out.

please don't use capslock.

edit: how could you have made a beat but not be able to layer some more kicks and snares over it?

to be quite honest it just all come together by mistake i was amazed really and tried obviously making a drum & bass beat rather than a liquid beat and the one shots were just not flowing correctly, i know how to add all the different sounds and that i just need to know what numbers to put the hits on just to get a basic rhythm going and then i can take it from there

that's what the zoom buttons are for, so you can break apart the bars and be more precise about where you're painting stuff in.

liquid and dnb beats? theres no difference, i dont understand.

and if you made a beat earlier, wouldn't you just reference that?

this is a joke right?

i dont get what you mean by painting stuff in? and im gonna reference what ive done now so nice one for that and no its not a joke i wouldnt of posted for advice in the 1st place would i

do those links work?

the links you posted were messed up, cuz u put http twice. anyway,

i just checked the first link and your drum hits sound in time.

if you can't remember how you timed those hits in your liquid track, just load it (that same track) into your current project, make sure the tempo is correct, then paint in the new hits; match 'em up till you get used to painting individual hits so you don't have to reference another tune to remember how it's done.

you can just fill in the kicks and snares first, then add the hats/shakers.

if you don't want to do that, then start a new project, and, well, paint in the hits. zoom into your sequencer so you can see if your placements are exact. playback what you've done and adjust accordingly.

get used to the term paint or drawing things in, because that's how you use acid, you have the pencil or paintbrush tool and you click and drag across the sequencer correct? well that's called painting or drawing.
