Not even sure if this is the right section for this!

just wondered how these work ? im guessing you sample the sounds to each button and just play ?

...bit im sure its not that simple!

the music in this is shitty dubstep, but none the less i found the technique well impressive and it gets pretty cool about 1:35!

ya, they probably got samples from some software like komplete 8.

    wait, here it is:

definately not as easy as it looks. i find the hardest is getting the timing right and being able to do multiple things with you fingers at one, which is really difficult for a male homo sapien.

it triggers samples, one shot or whole loop, or whole patterns (to the bpm) milla thats about the size of it. whatever floats your boat you know i mean of course but its not how we do drum and bass, not me and my mates at least.

Honestly what are the advantages to producing like this? I can see the advantages to playing something cool/improv-ing live. But just tapping out a bunch of samples on a pad is only ever going to produce something that sounds like a bunch of samples tapped out on a pad, whether it sounds cool or not.

In the meantime it works with abletons midi clip view (its basically a bank of triggerable midi clips arranged in columns) each of those buttons corresponds to one of those boxes) Madeons pop culture mash-up is far more impressive.

i agree with that!! the tune was pretty cheesy but watching him do it is cool..
and think , with a lot of practice and the right sounds you could make sumthin pretty cool!!

i wouldnt really wanna produce this way.. but just for a bit of fun it looks awesome!
