.....a member on another board is asking for some way to do this...I've know it can be done and I know I've used a software back in the day, but I don't remember the dam name...so I'm here asking for any help so I can pass along.. thanks! 

just load it into any sample editing program, and slice it.
I normally use soundforge. But there are plenty of other programs and some for free too (like audacity).
Load the mix, find where you want to cut it. cut and paste into a new project.
Just make sure to save it as an equivalent bit rate as the source.
(If you get a 128 mp3 keep it as a 128 mp3, you can not increase it to 320, if your source is a 128 because it will sound like shit)
