Ive been a slave to fruityloops (not a bad thing tho) for the past year or so an before that, i had only used a roland 505 to make beats on.

Its time to get into more software packages and broaden my horizons... so can peeps post sequencers/synth emulators they use (software not hardware please, but software versions of hardware is cool), say a lil bit bout what it does (doesnt have to be over-the-top, just an overview).

An here is the catch - i got no mo’foin money but got kaazaa so im looking to (cough) aquire the packages though this.

Ive been searching for sample cds on kaazaa too but cant find any - help a brother out!

I aint asking for secrets or tricks of the trade, but if you aint up for posting for all to see, PM me please!

Ez the production cru on the forum - You guys normally come through!

Download soulseek, much better than kazaa

    www.slsk.org

    *snip!*

    I use:

Cubase SX - Sequencing large audio & midi programming
FLStudio - As a VSTi inside Cubase, for drums
    FM7, Albino, Absynth + Pro53 VSTi's - Basslines & atmospherics
Goldwave & Soundforge - Editing audio
    Recycle - Chopping breaks
Various VST plugins - Waves packages mostly

i used to use an *un supported* version of fruty, now i use a modular tracker called psycle. its open source so you dont have to pay for it :p
    psycle.pastnotecut.org
it has a bunch of synths and stuff that comes with it - plus you can use vst instruments with it. :)
sound wise, i find it to be better than fruity. i found that fruity had a 'smooth' sound, actually it was too smooth (esp for d&b)
i did a track on psycle, and pretty much got exactly the sounds i wanted out of it. good punchy drums, nice synths etc.......

be warned, because its a tracker, if your'e used to a piano roll, it may take some time to get used to using it, but thats ok, it doesnt take too long...
