2005 was a great year for dnb with it continuing to come out of the underground and plenty of excellent tracks, eps, lps and albums coming out.

This year we have Nightlife 3. Junglesound Gold. Escape from Planet Monday.

WTF?

Am I missing something?

2006, for me:

Limewax LP :slayer:
Black Sun Empire LP :slayer:
Spor LP (hopefully) :slayer:
Barcode LP :slayer:

I'm excited, I don't really go for any of the album's you mentioned hehe :)

Plus you got all my faves making dope tunes, especially the bad boy Ewun!

Have you heard AMC's "Cry VIP"...my word !!!!!! PLenty of good stuff, but D&B is like house in '94...you'll only find 10-30 good tunes out of every 200 you go through...bandwagon blues..... :shit_happ

This year's going well in my opinion, we've had some real delights so far such as;

Friction & K-Tee - Overtime
Kryptic Minds - More Like U Remix
Chase & Status/Jenna G - In Love
Chase & Status - Druids EP
Cyantific - Ghetto Blaster LP
Hive Gridlok Break & Silent witness - Standing room only

And with a Breakage album and Bingo Sessions 3 coming soon things are looking pretty good for 2006... Nightlife 3 is good for what it is, a marketing tool for D&B.

Agreed. There's lots of good stuff happening, it just may not be everyone's cup of tea. Chase and Status are rocking it recently...big ups; Jenna G is also getting a lot more impressive (Tali seems to have realised there's some proper talent about), her voice on 'In Love' is outstanding. Spor's last album was fat...it was great to see the more techy side of things being attended to with some really good production (instead of the normal 'throw in the nastiest b-line approach' (imo)) and I hope that the next will be just as good. Cyantific's new album is awesome, like the man said, and Shy FX has gone back to what he does best by moving away from the samey tunes of the Shake ur Body era. I really enjoyed 'Everyday' (I know it's not strictly this year but near as dammit)...anyone hear his Essential Mix last December?

IMO it's all going well in 2k6, just not in the way that some of the more established or specialised peeps are used to/want it to....time will tell whether or not it is a move in the right direction. Remember, whatever is going on overground, there will always be an underground. :lighter:

its been ok!

Chase an status have been pushing things. Calyx has done some proper good stuff. ... all the darkness crew are doing their own thing....

its all healthy!

I think liquid funk has been really good this year so far!

hey!

its early days man!

the only beef i have over the last twelve months has been liqweed (lik-weed??) ganja! shit name ...crap tunes!

lol!

everyone else has been moving in the right direction!

i think in actual fact the production this year has been mind blowing to be honest! the tunes this year arent as instant and as anthemic as they perhaps were last year but some of the tunes that have come out over the last few months, i'll be playing in years to come.

ive always looked at tunes for their lasting quality rather than the dance floor rush...

i think last year it was all about the quick fix. heavy intros and mad, hectic drops...

there seems to be the same kinda response to DnB about it being weak at around this time almost every year.. give it time my friend, give it time.. big things will be coming out of the woodwork like always

need to also mention Chaos By Design.. and hopefully whatever D.Kay is bringing album-wise in the future

one word: drumfunk

more words::: its all where you look. i mean, with any art form, there is always going to be crap. as a dj/art-appreciater, its your business to sift through all the crud and find what you like. i could think of tons of release so far this year that have been awesome, but, of course, 5 times as many more tunes that i can't stand. i've been really excited with all the quality stuff coming out from breakage, paradox, macc, fracture, neptune, spor, commix, logistics, robot death squad, and tons more. keep looking!

2005 was shit mate!

There were a few bits but I really couldn't find much that I wanted to buy all year, now I'm flooded! It's not all about albums!

It's been better lately.

The Klute 12" on Soul:R and that Long White Cloud tune have been the best things about 2006 for me :spliff:

anything from fanu, breakage, equinox, limewax, counterstrike, evol intent, paradox/alaska, heist, and macc have been doing it for me this year.

This Year has been insane!
It's been hard to keep up...

Cyantifics album was amazing, I couldn' believe m'ears at the qualiy of production... Already in a classic world of its own in m'opinion! ''Don't Follow,'' ''Cover Story,'' ''Little Green Men.''

''Chaos By Design,'' How could anyone ignore Concord Dawn, they are back with a vengeance!

The Klute release on Soul:R...
''Were All Dying/Come Back To Me''
Now thats some smooth SH*T!

I expect nothing but greatness from the next Violence release, after ''Standing Room Only'' and ''Event Horizon''
Including Calyx for that matter... :smash:

''Shades Of Black'' on Barcode :antitank: YEA?!?!

Spirit has some deep tunes on the way, I believe... (as alwayz, baaaadman!)

Spor has gripped me with his sound from day, I eagerly anticipate his album...Big UP! That WILL be Sickening!! :missile:

Breakage, SPL, D-Star, Gremlinz, Break & Silent Witness, Teebee, Counterstrike, Evol Intent & Ewun, Dj Hidden, Alpha Omega, B-Key, Ink...
Just way too many to mention!! FLOODED!!

Big up EVERYONE in DnB, things are looking good... :D

PEACE
