yeah man I've also seen them vids also *well some of them*, but I think I just over think this who beat matching... so I've been told, but I'm trying to understand the concept of it in general to get a better feel so when they are both matched up nicely within the headphones
matched = sound good
unmatched = sound bad
Its simple really
Record a couple of mixes and post them up, people will quite happily give feedback.
Dropping the tune in the right place is really important because its hard to accuratly move a tune a whole beat or two in either direction. Dropping it in perfectly isn't gonna happen either, just aim for the right amount of sloppyness and remember monitor & adjust
Also what headphones are you using? The quality of your headphones and your monitors is pretty crucial... in my case i mix almost completly in my headphones when at home because my 'monitors' are too warm and bassy (rokits at the end of the month woop woop!)
