been workin on a new track, trying to keep it jazzy and smooth

http://www.zshare.net/audio/533162226258ff04/

but i cant stop the drums from sounding really hi and flat, whats the best way to thicken them out and make them smooth and flowing?

im trying to get them similar to redeyes, his breaks are sooo smooth..

any feedback on the track will be appreciated also :)

use a frequency analyser if you have one and it will help you see which frequencys will need boosting. Maybe by adding more drum hits

generally a nice sounding kick around the 100Hz mark and snare around the 200Hz mark will make a tight low end to the hi and flat sound you are talking about

also theres a bit of a timing issue on the bridge section dude, try some fading that might help. and more compression on the drums a a whole.

to get movement / flow in ur beat layering several hi passed breaks always helps, if u make ur beat out of too many one shots u risk it sounding robotic

when it comes to the kick you should layer two kicks, one low end for the punch and the second for the impact, same with the snare. Judging from what you said about the jazz style, a quick release/snappy snare would be ideal. highpass a few breaks at around 1500/4000hz to layer in the backround for authenticity and a more livelyer sound. for more info on drums check out this--->, watch them all for good measure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU6k2gePXVc Lots and lots of valuble info here, everything you'll ever want to know... almost!
