Small help on these kinds of drums

Easy, been trying to get these kind of drums for ages and I just cant nail it down. The snare has been killing me, thought it was all down to compression but just cant that sound, and the small percussion on the back are just impossible to make. Ive been putting my focus on bass a lot for the last couple of months and only now am I moving to drums, can someone help me out on how to get these kind of drums, and why we achieve that sound? Cheers

Sounds like a rimshot with a bit of verb. Try maybe having a nice low end sounding snare layered with a rimshot and clean them up with an eq so ones taking care of the lows and the other taking care of the tops. The percussion just sounds like a simple hat loop with some verb on it and then an ocasional ride loop comes in .

I'd experiment with sidechain & reverb for the precussion.
The snare to me sounds like a little dance hit layered with a clap, both with very quick transients & perfectly eq'd. It also sounds like theirs a little jungle hit behind layered in reverb to give it that edge.

Post up what youve got so far and we might be able to help more.

as i said mate, if you can post up a little clip of what you've got so far i can give you some pointers from there as i don't know what stage your at at the moment.
