I'm guessing the name change could be due to Mattix & Futile sounding similar to Matrix & Futurebound as Mattix did actually make a thread about whether they should change their name or not a few years back. It could also be for contract reasons as in they signed to someone using the name Mattix & Futile.

Or maybe they just fancied a change
