Dnbforum went down from 04:30 till 10:30 GMT today, unfortunately it was completely out of my hands. Our database had broke and needed to be restarted, which I had to wait for our web host to do.

I'm pretty sure it was cK who fixed it, so big up the cK (he works for our web host).

Once again, sorry, but it was out of our control. Plans are now being made to stop this happening again.

Finally, thanks to all who mailed in to tell me about the site being down (y)

    Bonza!

Guess while they proudly support you, you don't proudly advertise them eh ;)

Ack, they're still friends of mine! They have been for a long time now.

I'll gladly promote their site till we move, they've done me so many good deals in the past, and it's only recently they haven't had the time to support me as a web host.

dunno what kind of funds your working with but you may want to look into getting your own server:

    http://www.ev1servers.net

i have a couple servers with these guys and have never had network issues.

naturally you are in complete control of the box so if something happens its up to you to fix it over SSH etc. (you can also purchase 24 hour rentals of virtual terminals where its just like your at the box)

the main thing is setting up your security properly. my boxs haven't been restarted in over a year and our sites haven't been down for longer than 2 minutes (to recompile new versions of mysql, php, apache, GD lib etc.)

very affordable and could help you expand your sites disk space and bandwidth
