Family Guy will meet The Simpsons for a crossover episode, Fox announced Thursday.
The two highly popular animated comedies are scheduled to meet in autumn of 2014 in a mash-up which will surely have fans jumping for joy.
The episode will take place in The Simpsons' hometown of Springfield, where Family Guy's Griffin family will show up for what will surely be hilarious interaction.

The mash-up has been dubbed The Simpsons Guy and will surely be a win for Fox, which is the home of both shows.
According to Fox, when the Griffin family arrives in Springfield during a road trip, they 'get along famously' with the Simpsons.
Homer 'welcomes his new 'albino' friends with open arms', the episode synopsis explains.

When the famous cartoon families meet, of course Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin will go head to head over which beer is better - Duff or Pawtucket.
Family matriarchs Marge and Lois are apparently set to become pals, whilst Stewie and Bart will bond over their mutual love for pranks.
Fox gave comments on behalf of their characters, with Peter Griffin saying 'Fox hasn't spent this much money since they took Simon Cowell tight T-shirt shopping,' and Homer Simpson adding, 'Finally I can get my hands on this guy!'

The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening, and Family Guy, created by Seth MacFarlane, have never had an official crossover episode.
Seth MacFarlane has appeared in an episode of The Simpsons, and Dan Castellaneta of The Simpsons made an appearance on Family Guy, but that has been the extent of it to date.
The Simpsons has been running for 24 seasons now, while Family Guy is in its 11th season.

I'm looking forward to it. I've not watched The Simpsons in years and TBH, I never really found it that funny. This mashup episode should liven things up a bit.

yeh i rarely keep up with the simpsons these days, i used to be religious about watching new episodes when they were on, but these days if i catch one it is a bonus, though sometimes a disappointment... i still watch old episodes every now and then because they are on basically every day...
family guy never really grabbed me... it was funny for a bit, but it got repetitive... same sort of jokes over and over...
also it was on late so i never really watched it on tv... though i do thank them for allowing people to just cut to the past without having to introduce it as happening with some sort of harp or blurred edges or whatever... (at least it was the first show i remember that did that, there could have been ones before, it just abused the shit out of their cuts to the past)

anyway... i will probably watch this... even though reasons above...
i saw a new simpsons is on today, and had to check if it was this... but seems that won't be until the end of the season... someone tell me when that happens please XD

Simpsons was funny when I was like 11 downloaded them and tried watching them recently and it wasn't the same and the new episodes are pretty shocking so I had to delete it all this could be interesting but family guy is real hit and miss lately as well.
