    Anyone on here work night/shifts?

Whats it like with regards to sleep patterns etc?

May go for a job which is shift based - 2 days of working 6am-6pm, then 2 nights 6pm-6am, then 4 days off.

My worry is that the 4 days off will be spent adjusting my sleeping pattern back to normal....and I will lose all remnants of a social life being as it runs 365 days a year.

Is it worth it for a 50-60% wage increase?

Id say dont do it, sounds good with the dollar but Im guessing its a very lonely environment. Plus sleep would be a killer and you'd be sleeping when youd wanna be at the pub etc.

Personally I could do it, but wouldnt. Unless you desperatly need the money. Its worth doing it for a month to boost earnings but I wouldnt leave a job for it

The fact ur asking on here probably indicates you dont really want to?

When did he say there were 8 days in a week? Just said 4 on, 4 off.

If you could do with te wage increase go for it.

Ill tell you some scatty shift patterns im working at mo!

4 days on, 2 off, 3 nights on, 2 off, 3 days on, 2 off, 4 nights on, 8 off! Then repeat.

Dont usually have that much problem adjusting. Reckon its worth it if theres a 50 - 60% wage increase!

Cheers for the replies, I'm gonna apply anyway and see wha'gwarn.

The jobs at my current company - probably won't get it anyway - got turned down for the last one I went for because I had 9 days off sick in the last year ( ) and then they went and employed a semi-literate wet chinned woman who promptly went and got up the duff. Nice one.

Do you need the money? Is that why you're considering it?

Everyone's different so you might actually adapt to it a bit better than others....

If all else fails there's always speed :)

I don't really need the money, there'd be a whole lot more going into the M3 fund lol, but it's a step up in job description too, always looks good on your CV if you've been promoted inside a company.

I just don't wanna get 6 months in and still be totally headfucked by all the chopping & changing sleep patterns and not be able to keep doing it.
