That's as high as most laptop screens go and another reason why desktops are so much better.

Though you could connect an external monitor, with a 1900 x 1080 resolution.

I dunnow but most newer laptops are widescreen and support 1080p Full-HD.. So that would be the best to get. Of course I have space enough on my 24" Full-HD monitor.. No seriously, I think that the problem here is that the guys pc or monitor is just too old and it doesn't support higher resolutions. My bet would be for him to do an upgrade, believe me it's worth it when you really want to get into producing music. Having your 'studio' set up properly with the right gear for your needs is something really important. But yeahh, it can get quite expensive..

Get yourself on Novatech and get yourself an i5 or something with a semi decent graphics card and start again.. It sounds like you are using an Amstrad with a FisherPrice monitor tbh lol
