saving tracks as an mp3 on reason

But don't save tracks as mp3!

Always save as wave! Always save noncompressed, highest quality in case you want to work on the track in the future. You can't decompress!

If you don't have enough disk space, upgrade or delete your porn.

Wouldn't you just use the project file rather than the wav?

Because it still means opening Reason the first time you need the wav file (say to put it through a wringer in another program) and hoping you've still the samples etc.

Project and sample files tend to get... modified as in trashed in many different ways. As many backups in as many way as possible in as many places as possible is the idea.

I once saved a couple of projects as 128 mp3 in a program and nowa couple of years later on I'm fucked because the program stopped working and I've deleted the samples I used. Real story.

i have reason and know i downloaded Winlame, now i can save my tracks as wav but not as mp3.. does anybody know how to work with WinLAME?

It's been a long time since I stopped listening to music on my iPod, but I think it does accept wav files?

Anyways, you can always get a 3rd party program to render it from wav to mp3.

I deduce you must be jelly of my awesome skills. So jelly.

i export, then i convert with switch

Exactly this - export to wav like everyone else has said - then convert to MP3 using switch - then I import the MP3 into Wavelab to amplify by about 120% so as to blast my eardrums later.
