sampling beats from vinyl & converting to REX

easy peeps.. hope all is good

just a quick question.. i've been sampling some fat beats straight from vinyl, and then converting them into REX files.. however i seem to lose the punch/snap once converted and imported into Reason/Record...

I appreciate that breaks cut on vinyl are eq'd differently, and even after spending a lot of time eqing/compressing etc, i just cant get it sounding right..

any ideas or techniques that you know of that could help us out?

mate i mean i thought compression/equalizing seems the only way to pump them up to my knowledge???

yeaa i think i solved it.. i was just over compressing the loop and it was sounding too pumped..

If you are going straight from the source I wouldn't compress it at all, just Rex it.
