The Release

Ruse Records presents ‘Flies Of The Lord EP’.
This will show case the Ruse Records concept of 'Light and Dark' releases while keeping on the Neurofunk and progressive tip.

‘Flies Of The Lord’ takes it theme from the Nobel Prize-winning author William Golding’s novel, ‘Lord Of The Flies’.
The Ruse Records concept depicts the imagery of this novel through the light and dark releases wonderfully constructed within this EP.
‘We Are Space’ and ‘Lucid’ represent the lighter, uplifting side of this novel; the new experience of being on a tropical island with no parents or authority, the fun and joy of doing what you want when you wanted in a beautiful paradise.
‘Shiva’ and ‘Tokio Ya No Nos Quiere’ represent the darker side of the concept, events turn bad, the children revolt, turn on each other, animals are slaughtered and ultimately a human life is lost, taking you to a harder, darker place.

The Concept

Light – Alex Pusher – We Are Space http://www.myspace.com/alexpusher

Alex Pusher creates a beautifully constructed tune with ‘We Are Space’.
The Liquid foundation of this tune takes you through a brilliantly musical ride as you first touch down on this tropical paradise.
Wonderfully sequenced crisp breaks and smooth progressive bass lines layered with catchy melodies and atmospherics with subtle sounds of neurofunk influenced bass lines throughout help create this very dance floor oriented tune, uniquely placed drum fills and jubilant strings keep things interesting as the tune progresses and builds. Two thirds of the way through ‘We are Space’ climaxes, with a complete change and the whole tune is suddenly engulfed by a hugely weighted bass line changing the whole sound of the tune, but for only a moment, as the breakdown and drums fill transition you back into the original journey but with new passengers.

Dark – Malsum_and_Shintuza – Shiva (kRoNe Remix) http://www.myspace.com/kronednb

‘kRoNe’ steps up to remix ‘Malsum and Shintuza’s’ mighty ‘Shiva’, and with devastating effect.
Hard hitting drums, breaks like ten ton hammers push this progressive neurofunk masterpiece, a reverberated cacophony of deep, heavy basslines, haunting females’ choir vocals and are surrounded by displaced ambience and atmospherics which give a contrast to the high energy resulting from the big beats and basslines, a hypnotic, big hitting tune with destructive power on the dancefloor.

Light – Felon and Sidius – Lucid http://www.myspace.com/dnbfelon and http://www.myspace.com/sidiusdrumnbass

Felon and Sidius pair up for ‘Lucid’. This production duo flex their combined masterful engineering skills to create the 2nd part of the lighter, musical concept of this release.
Trancy synth cuts lead the intro into a sets of heavy, crisp drums which pave the way forward into this progressive musical ride, atmospherics rise and swirl with the synth as it breaks down to the first drop, and when it drops the whole world will know, The Virus created Bassline is dropped on silent air as a teaser, while the drums and associates elements join at full levels on the next bar thrusting the listener into a knocky bass stabbing verse, the bassline doubled up and spaciously panned fills the whole floor as uplifting pads and melodies help create a musical and very dance floor oriented release, a contradicting progressive Theremin keeps things interesting and adds a soft eerie element to this beautifully crafted uplifting tune.

Dark – Malsum_- Tokio Ya No Nos Quiere http://www.myspace.com/malsumdnb

Malsum produces one of the hottest tune this year in form of ‘Tokio Ya No Nos Quiere’. An experimental intro leads you into another world, while you’re placed in space before this ship takes off, the tune breaks down to the 1st drop, as the drums are killed an admirably placed vocal states ‘Panic’ in a moment of calm as ‘Tokio Ya No Nos Quiere’ drops into a barrage of techy bass stabs and drum hits. Thinking the tune has dropped for the next 8 bars the real drops lands, huge techy rolling bass stabs surrounded by a set of heavy breaks sequenced with an increase of drum layers creates a whole new level of energy, as the tune progresses, ingeniously engineered reeses growl over the techy bass stabs creating one of the tunes of the year and dancefloor killers of this decade.
