Hi All,

Basically I have a beer gut I need to get rid of for my wedding! I have 10 months to do so!

I have been running every night to try and shift it and laying off the beer for a while, trying to eat healthier!

Anyone actually managed to shift one before!? does running actually help or am i doing the wrong thing? I know there a few fitness fanatics on here so any decent tips wouldn't go a miss!

Fat Boy xx

If you have a bike then absolutely hammer the road with it. Its less strenuous on the joints and gets you trim pretty quickly. I lost 2 stone and got trim for my wedding last year in about 4 months doing at least 10km a day for 3 days a week.

I had a beer gut big time...i started to go to a local boot camp 2 or 3 times a week...but you can exercise loads but 70% of weight loss is honestly down to you diet...and thats a fucking pain in the arse...i cut out carbs (spuds, bread rice, Basically all the lovely food) and my weight plumtted and with my work out my muscles started to refine...i would say get a gym program, tell the instructor what u want, they will set a program within your means and try your best to stick to it...but running and cycling and the pounds will drop off ya..but your food intake is a massive factor

This. I've lost 50-60 pounds in the past few years, between eating better and riding a bike around my city. Laying off the beer helps as well...I tend to gain a bit of it back when I have a few.

Look into HIIT too man if life is super busy. In short it revolves around getting the heart rate to the absolute max which is where most of the fat burning actually takes place. A 20 minute jog is pretty much a waste of time imo when trying to see results quickly.

Also, you will 100% feel like you're going to die the first few times, it's scary but satisfying.

I have been doing sprints then fast paced running and then into jogging to try and mix it up a bit. i heard this is good for burning fat.

It you want to super fast results then do the Insanity Workout plan. That will have you breathing out of your arse and in severe muscular pain for days.

Half the amount of carbs you eat with your meals and just do a bit of exercise. Even something as small as that will get results.

After a month or two of doing this you will find yourself eating less but more often (the correct way, big meals aren't good for you) and also wanting to be more active.

Going all out straight of the bat, doesn't work for everyone

Also, complex carbs... No white bread, switch potato for sweet potato, no white rice or pasta (well basmati rice is all good, but no short grain white rice).
