Roland SH2-01

Hi folks..

I'm thinking of buying a hardware synth.. I'm looking at the Roland SH-201... Can pick them up for about 250-300 on ebay...

Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they any good?

I'm not what you would call experienced when it comes to synths, so i'm not looking for anything amazingly complex..

I also need to buy a midi keyboard and since the roland will also double up as a midi controller this seems like a good keyboard for the money...

My budget is £300, so if there are any other synths worth looking at then suggestions are welcome...

they have a great reputation but the vsti emulation is free and pretty much picture perfect, or so they tell me.

Do you have a link to the said VST? Also i use use macs, so is there an AU version...

I like the idea of having some buttons and knobs to press and turn, make it a bit more hands on, plus like i say i need to buy a midi keyboard so would probably look to spend about 150 on that so for an extra 100 odd i could have a synth that could also be used as a controller

Thanks... Is that not based on the Roland SH101? Im talking about the SH201
