Rockwell - Everything (& U) [lartsekrad001AA] *fap warning*

Amazing tune . Was looking through the darkestral artwork the other day.... WOW!
Some rediculous stuff! Meant to be dropping v soon :D

Still haven't got over how deep full circle is let alone the rest of what he is pushing. Things will only get bigger for this dude!

all about rockwell and sabre atm. for pure production value they cant be beaten

Sabre yes... Rockwell... well the man's got talent there's not doubt about that, definitely someone I rate highly, but I wouldn't put him above the vast majority of fresh talent around at the minute. I think people are just all like "omgwtf" about him cause of his unique take on percussion. But imo his production isn't any better then people like Noisia, Icicle, Perez, Nymfo, Breakage, Subwave, Spinline, Jubei, Break etc... in fact I'd definitely put a couple of the aforementioned peeps ahead of him.

On topic... Love that everything & u tune, fucking sick. Not fussed on reverse engineering. Bit gimmicky really.

@ Goosey_J - agree with you to a certain extent but in a genre named drum and bass, surely a unique take on percussion is going to be a fairly big deal whatever the weather.

I should apologize. When I said unique I meant fresh. Cause I mean really when you think about it it's not that unique, that style's been around since the early days. It's just come (if you'll excuse the pun) full circle again.

I'm not saying he's not a fantastic producer, because he is. He's just not some super producer who's going to reinvent the scene. He actually kind of reminds me of Spectrasoul last year. So hot right now.

Could you name some artists who have a similar style? I'm really interested.

Yeah man no problem. If you're talking about older stuff then a lot of the old Ed Rush/Doc Scott/Photek/Blu Mar Ten stuff has a real similar vibe to the glitchy/weird percussion minimal stuff that's about now. Couple of tunes off the top of my head:

You can see what I mean when I say things have gone full circle :) a lot of producers (Rockwell included) clearly have been influenced by this sound.

If you're talking about newer producers with a similar sound, check out Stray, ASC, June Miller, Spinline, Data... Sabre obviously as well. All sick with their percussion.

Oh thanks. I thought you were talking about artists with fast and light drums like Rockwell, but good tunes nonetheless. Thanks.

And as for the newer producers, I got that area covered. :D But they aren't that similar to Rockwell, IMO.
