Panasonic (the manufacturer of Technics) have announced that production of the world famous Technics SL-1200 and SL-1210 DJ turntables will stop at the end of February 2010. If you are interested in securing a pair of the legendary turntables before they are gone, we have a limited number left in stock at DMC.

However, Chemical spoke to its Technics UK contact:

MK5 is being discontinued
MK2 (lower priced version) will still be in production, as well as the top tier models

So this could just affect Aus/Nz

is this just in Australia?

Panasonic announced that they would cease the manufacture of Tehcnics turntables in February next year, citing an increasing decline in sales as the motivation behind the line’s demise.

The Australian arm of Panasonic issued a similar statement today,

kind of implies this is worldwide :rinsed:

interesting point... and just because they are stopping the manufacture of the decks, doesn't mean clubs world wide will just chuck the current ones in the bin!
